Mountains are not merely comprised of stone and soil; each has its own unique frequency, a hidden rhythm whispering with the wind. Yushan, the highest and most majestic peak in Taiwan, is looking precisely for international artists to compose this mysterious rhythm with colors. Taiwan-based E.SUN Bank invites painters worldwide to a visual symphony that transcends borders: the global open call for the E.SUN Art Awards 2026 has officially begun.
There is a highly nuanced layer that distinguishes this year’s competition from an ordinary call to depict a landscape: the absolute marriage of nature, music, and visual art. The 2026 edition of the competition aims to merge environmental awareness and ecological sensitivity with the abstract rhythm of music. What is expected of the painters is to transfer Yushan’s majesty, ecological richness, and spiritual symbolism—which have inspired awe for generations—onto the canvas, while charging their brushes with the sounds, melodies, and harmonies inherent in the spirit of that grand geography. In a sense, the canvas transforms into a visual echo of an audited landscape.
Having welcomed over 5,000 submissions from 72 different countries across 5 continents to date, this prestigious platform opens its doors to the entire world in its international category. Artists can participate in the competition with original artworks produced using oil, acrylic, or gouache techniques. Any vision that looks at Yushan’s misty peaks, wildlife, and winds on the cliffs through a contemporary, innovative window can find a place here. Furthermore, the prize for this global challenge is just as enticing; a grand prize of 36,000 USD awaits the winning artist. In addition to this, Special Selection and Distinguished Achievement awards will be presented to their recipients by the jury.
The application timeline has begun running for the submission process, which is conducted entirely online. If you wish to pour the spirit and sound of a mountain onto a canvas in your own studio and make the melody of that peak heard by the world, you must complete your digital application before the final submission deadline of July 17, 2026 (23:59 Taipei time).
