Arter hosts its “Long Saturday” program on September 27, supported by Paribu, keeping its doors open until midnight. Visitors can expect a vibrant art marathon featuring exhibitions, workshops, performances, talks, and DJ sets throughout the day. Current exhibitions include Nilbar Güreş’s first institutional solo show in Turkey, Velvet Gaze, Franz Erhard Walther’s boundary-pushing Attempt to Be a Sculpture, and Above Water Under Pressure, which brings together works from various mediums. All exhibitions will remain open until midnight, with guided tours and audio guides offered free to Paribu users all day.
The program kicks off with a workshop for children aged 7–11, Like a Sculpture: Color, Texture, Body, led by Anna Karayorgi. Inspired by the works of Franz Erhard Walther and Cinthia Marcelle, it explores the relationship between body, stage, and art through fabrics. For adults, the Framing the Void workshop, guided by Deniz Kulaksızoğlu, delves into the concept of emptiness, encouraging participants to explore three-dimensional interpretations beyond traditional frames. Later in the day, Arter Library hosts a Library Talk with writer Sinem Sal, focusing on the intersections of literature and art, offering a multilayered reading experience.
In the evening, Arter hosts the closing performances of the 7th Istanbul Fringe Festival. Mustafa Zeren and Fatih Gençkal’s Bootleg Tea Hour, a performance shaped by prejudices and everyday dreams, will take place at the Sevgi Gönül Auditorium, while the Karbon stage presents Gizem Seçkin’s A Shoelace Floating Alone in Space and PE**E, a collaboration by Aslı Melisa Uzun and Ufuk Fakıoğlu. The day concludes with a free DJ set by the duo Ceren & Yaren’t in the backyard at 9:30 PM.
Guided tours, part of Arter’s Learning Program, will be offered in Turkish and English at various times throughout the day, free for Paribu users with limited capacity. The Library, Bookstore, and Bistro by Divan will also remain open from 11:00 AM to midnight. Free shuttle services from Taksim and Tepebaşı ensure easy access, creating an immersive art experience for visitors until midnight.
