The Future of Pop Culture Takes Shape in Berlin: “Pop-Kultur Festival 2026” at silent green

Is pop music merely melodies echoing in our ears, or is it the most powerful reverberation of social transformations, searches for identity, and a creative future? One of Berlin’s most unique cultural spaces, silent green Kulturquartier, is preparing to host Pop-Kultur Festival 2026 from August 24 to 26, 2026, bringing together music enthusiasts, artists, industry professionals, and curious explorers.

Spreading across the entire complex over three days, the festival gathers all the colors of pop culture under one roof, ranging from live concerts to experimental music formats, inspiring panels to workshops and networking events.

1. Pop-Kultur Talks (August 24 – 25): The Future of Pop Culture from Idea to Debate

The first two days of the festival are dedicated to the Pop-Kultur Talks format, going beyond music to question social issues, transformations in the music industry, and narratives of the future. Taking place in silent green’s studios, the iconic Domed Hall (Kuppelhalle), the newly opened Arsenal Cinema, and off-site at migas Listening Bar, the sessions invite visitors not merely to be listeners, but to engage in active dialogue.

• Featured Guests: This year’s talk, reading, and panel program features names such as talented electronic music figure Sofia Kourtesis, beloved face of the German alternative scene Mine, Rebecca Spilker, Melanie Gollin & Rosalie Ernst from the “Zwischen Zwei und Vier” project, and Anne Haffmans.

• Focus: Talks explore the future of the music industry and the impact of pop culture on society from multiple angles through panel discussions, artist talks, and listening sessions.

2. Pop-Kultur Live (August 26): Sounds Transcending the Boundaries of the Stage

On Wednesday, August 26, the festival delivers a high-energy finale featuring live performances, DJ sets, and special productions. Almost the entire area of silent green, including Betonhalle, Kuppelhalle, transmediale studio, MARS, and Arsenal Cinema, opens up to this experimental sonic marathon.

• Live Performances and DJ Sets: Bar Italia, one of the most exciting indie/post-punk bands of recent times, Avalon Emerson & the Charm, a distinct name in electronic music, Ray Lozano with mesmerizing R&B/soul tones, DJ Wagner, and DJ Valerie Renay will take the stage.

• Commissioned Works: As one of Pop-Kultur Festival’s most distinctive traditions, boundary-pushing interdisciplinary works specially commissioned for the festival will meet the audience for the first time this year, featuring projects by artists like Eddna, VÍZ, and Ralph Heidel & Fee Aviv & Izzy Ment.
