The Rochester Cathedral Jazz and Blues Festival enters its third year from 8–15 November 2025, hosting some of today’s finest jazz and blues artists. Curated by jazz legend James Taylor, the event promises an unforgettable celebration.
This year’s most exciting addition is the Rochester Cathedral Jazz and Blues Festival Fringe, featuring events in other churches across the Medway area. This expansion carries the festival’s spirit beyond the cathedral walls, spreading it across a wider landscape.
Headliners on the Cathedral Stage
The festival’s main venue, Rochester Cathedral, welcomes two giant acts:
BBC Big Band (13 November): The swing giants return with a brand-new show inspired by classic big bands.
James Taylor Quartet (14 November): Setting the standard for funky acid jazz for over 30 years, James Taylor Quartet will deliver one of the finest examples of British creativity on the cathedral stage.
Fringe Events and Cult Classics
Across historic churches in the Medway area, the festival hosts truly special performances:
Snowboy and the Latin Section (St Nicholas Strood, 8 November): Europe’s leading Afro-Cuban jazz outfit takes the stage with pyrotechnic energy. Having released 16 albums since their 1985 debut and performed in over 22 countries, they promise an explosive night.
Ronnie Scott’s All Stars (St Margaret’s Rainham, 15 November): The “house” band of London’s legendary Ronnie Scott’s club brings the venue’s incredible 60-plus-year history to life through classic tracks performed by jazz giants who once graced its stage. (This event is selling out fast.)
