The Istanbul Foundation for Culture and Arts (İKSV) has revealed the initial lineup for the 29th Istanbul Theatre Festival, scheduled from October 20 to November 22. Showcasing a range of captivating productions from Turkey and across the globe, the festival will kick off on October 20–21 with Cathedral, An Evening with Arvo Pärt by Scapino Ballet Rotterdam.
Born from a collaboration between one of Europe’s leading choreographers, Marcos Morau, and the renowned Dutch dance company Scapino Ballet Rotterdam, Cathedral, An Evening with Arvo Pärt promises a unique experience with its robust aesthetic and Arvo Pärt’s soul-piercing music. On October 22–23, the French-Catalan collective Baro d’evel will present Who Are We?, a performance uniting dancers, musicians, actors, acrobats, ceramicists, and clowns. Curated by Mehmet Birkiye, the full festival program will be unveiled in September.
