The Istanbul Culture and Arts Foundation’s eagerly anticipated Filmekimi event will take place from October 3–12, 2025, in Istanbul’s leading cinemas. The festival program brings together films that have made waves at the world’s most prestigious festivals, from Berlin to Cannes, Venice to Toronto, presenting them to Turkish audiences for the first time.
This year’s standout films include new works by Joachim Trier, Tarik Saleh, and Diego Céspedes. The lineup also features Oscar contenders, award-winners from Berlin, and bold examples of world cinema.
Filmekimi isn’t limited to Istanbul; Ankara, İzmir, and Eskişehir will also join the festival excitement, with select films screening for audiences in these cities.
As one of the brightest events on Istanbul’s cinema calendar, Filmekimi promises cinephiles a vibrant autumn, uniting both independent gems and masterpieces from renowned directors.
