Applications for the Talât Sait Halman Translation Award, launched by İKSV to support high-quality literary translations, are ongoing. The award, valued at 100,000 TL, will be presented to the translator and work selected by the jury at the end of the year.
This year’s jury, chaired by Ayşe Sarısayın, includes Emrah İmre, Begüm Kovulmaz, Lale Özcan, and Ayşe Ece. The winner will be announced in December.
Applications can be submitted by publishers or translators. Only short stories and novels translated into Turkish from their original language and bearing an ISBN are eligible. Publishers may submit up to three works. The application deadline is October 3, 2025, at 5:00 PM. Submissions must be delivered to İKSV. Detailed guidelines and the application form are available at iksv.org.
Established in 2015 in memory of Talât Sait Halman, Turkey’s first Minister of Culture and İKSV Board of Trustees President from 2008 to 2014, the award was previously overseen by a jury chaired by Doğan Hızlan, with members Sevin Okyay, Ayşe Sarısayın, Yiğit Bener, and Kaya Genç. Hızlan continues to support the award as its Honorary President.
