Laughter for a Cause: Join Us for Stand-Up Comedy Supporting Men’s Mental Health

July 4, 20253 min read

Join for a night of unforgettable laughs at “Stand-Up Comedy for M.A.T.E.s”—a charity event dedicated to supporting men’s mental health. Headlined by comedic talents Simon Brodkin, Daniel O’Reilly, and Tom Davis, this epic evening at The O2’s indigo venue on July 18th is more than just a comedy show; it’s a mission to raise essential funds for Men And Their Emotions (M.A.T.E), a new initiative focused on mental health support for men.

Founded by Daniel O’Reilly, also known as Dapper Laughs, M.A.T.E aims to provide counseling for the growing community of 55,000 men in need, and to fund sober living houses for those who can’t afford rehabilitation. This event seeks to shine a light on this urgent cause by generating vital resources and awareness.

M.A.T.E has blossomed into one of the UK’s fastest-growing mental health communities, dedicated to helping men connect, share experiences, and receive the support they need during tough times. What started as a safe space on Facebook has now evolved into a life-saving charity.

The night will feature an outstanding lineup including Daniel O’Reilly, fresh off a sold-out tour, and the outrageous Simon Brodkin—creator of the beloved character Lee Nelson and renowned for his iconic pranks. Joining them are Tom Davis, known for his BAFTA-winning work on Murder in Successville and appearances in Paddington 2 and the upcoming Wonka, as well as Tom Ward, celebrated for his high-energy performances and clever impressions, and Daryl Robinson, an exciting new voice in comedy delivering fresh laughs.

This evening isn’t just for men; it welcomes everyone—friends, family, and all comedy enthusiasts who believe in the importance of mental health support. Every ticket sold will directly fund crucial services.

Daniel O’Reilly shared his motivation, stating, “After opening up about my struggles, I was overwhelmed by the responses from others seeking help. That’s why I launched M.A.T.E—to create a community where men can share their stories and find support. This event is an opportunity to expand that network even further. Each ticket goes towards counseling and sober housing for those who need it most.”

“Expect an amazing lineup that promises to make you laugh while contributing to a vital cause,” he added.

Mark your calendars for an extraordinary night of comedy and connection. Don’t miss out!
