Highlights of the most exciting performances that will resonate in the halls of the Royal Albert Hall in the coming weeks are as follows:

• Sir Mark Elder & Weber’s Oberon (August 6): Weber’s last opera, performed for the first time 200 years ago, transforms into a knight’s fantasy filled with shipwrecks and magic horns, accompanied by the Orchestre Révolutionnaire et Romantique and Monteverdi Choir under the direction of Sir Mark Elder.

• Evelyn Glennie and Fantasia Orchestra (August 11): Duke Ellington, Dvořák, Vaughan Williams, and Radiohead… The only place that can bring all these contrasting names together in a single concert is BBC Proms! Legendary Grammy-winning percussion master Dame Evelyn Glennie is on stage.

• The Met Orchestra & Mahler (August 27): On its second night, The Met Orchestra shares the stage with Joyce DiDonato, performing Mahler’s enchanting Rückert-Lieder.

• Ultimate Calm (August 27 Midnight): A late-night session for those who want to rest their minds before the Bank Holiday weekend! Scottish composer Erland Cooper and his guests promise a highly intimate atmosphere bringing together ambient and classical music.

• Altın Gün & Derya Yıldırım (August 28): Proms’ most special night pushing the boundaries of classical music! Dutch-Turkish psychedelic rock band Altın Gün, special guest Derya Yıldırım, conductor Jules Buckley, and the BBC Symphony Orchestra will sign their names to an unforgettable Turkish psychedelic rock night.

• Oslo Philharmonic – Stravinsky & Prokofiev (August 29): The orchestra under the direction of Mirga Gražinytė-Tyla interprets Stravinsky’s Violin Concerto and Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet ballet music with unconventional violin virtuoso Patricia Kopatchinskaja.
