At the Tanz im August festival, from August 26–28, the performance Trailer Park, a collaboration between tanzmainz and choreographer Moritz Ostruschnjak, brings the impact of the digital age on our bodies and social interactions to the stage. PresentedParte in collaboration with Sasha Waltz & Guests, this work transforms internet-inspired movements into a vibrant and thrilling live performance.
In Trailer Park, ten dancers in bright athletic uniforms perform a fast-paced, intense choreography on an empty stage. Drawing from social media, the dancers copy and reimagine various movements, creating a unique universe. They navigate between movement styles, adopting viral gestures and group choreographies, translating virtual content into the physical realm with captivating skill.
The performance offers a dynamic and energetic response to the question of how digitalization shapes our physical and social experiences. Trailer Park invites audiences to witness the movement language of the digital age on stage, revealing how familiar gestures can take on new meanings in an artistic context.
