Get ready for a unique blend of Lord Byron, drag, and unfulfilled desires in this captivating solo performance that delves into identity and longing.
In a lively fusion of drag, storytelling, and yes, PowerPoints, Zoë Maltby takes us on a whirlwind journey through Lord Byron’s life and his troubled descendants. She examines how these intense, repressed figures helped her navigate her own complexities and yearnings.
Drawing inspiration from her lifelong fascination with gothic romance and the challenging process of claiming one’s narrative, Isn’t It Byronic is a playful, gender-bending fever dream that uses male archetypes to explore female experiences. It wades through horror to reveal tenderness and transforms melodrama into deeply personal revelations.
