June 16, 20252 min read

Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre is ready to become a lively center of dance and movement on Sunday, July 20, 2025, with its eagerly awaited Dance Takeover. This all-day event, part of the Open Air Theatre Festival series, features a diverse lineup of professional workshops and will culminate in an exhilarating performance by the renowned company, Boy Blue.

Dance fans will have the opportunity to sharpen their skills through workshops led by some of the UK’s top choreographers and dance companies. The morning sessions kick off with the McOnie Company, featuring a class by Artistic Director Drew McOnie, followed by a neoclassical ballet class hosted by Isabela Coracy, a Senior Artist from Ballet Black. As the day progresses, participants can immerse themselves in high-energy contemporary dance with Rambert, explore integrated sign language choreography with Deaf Men Dancing, work on touring repertoire with London City Ballet, or delve into narrative dance theatre with acclaimed choreographer Arthur Pita. Each of these workshops is priced at £18.

The excitement will reach its peak at 7:30 PM with Boy Blue in the Park, showcasing dynamic hip-hop choreography from Kenrick ‘H20’ Sandy and the Boy Blue team, accompanied by thrilling soundtracks composed by Michael ‘Mikey J’ Asante. Attendees are encouraged to arrive early to enjoy a pre-show DJ set on the picnic lawn, setting the stage for a perfect summer evening. For those looking to enhance their experience, an exclusive Boy Blue Open Class will take place at 5:30 PM for an extra £8, available only to those with evening show tickets.

Tickets for Boy Blue in the Park range from £17.50 to £27.50 and are on sale now at www.openairtheatre.com. This Dance Takeover is one of four Open Air Theatre Festivals planned for the summer season of 2025, with additional comedy and music events still to be announced.
