Neighbor, would you like me to read the news to you?

The eagerly awaited West End transfer of the Menier Chocolate Factory’s sold-out production of Mel Brooks’ The Producers has officially announced its complete creative team. This hilarious musical, featuring a book by Mel Brooks and Thomas Meehan, along with music and lyrics by Mel Brooks, will take the stage at the Garrick Theatre starting September 15th, with previews commencing on August 30th. The show will run until February 21, 2026.

Tony Award-winning director Patrick Marber (known for Leopoldstadt) returns to direct this new production, which received rave reviews during its time at the Menier Chocolate Factory. Marber shared his enthusiasm: “It has been an incredible joy to direct this new version of The Producers. Mel Brooks is one of my all-time heroes, and this musical showcases his extraordinary breadth of talent—what fantastic characters, what laughs, what unforgettable songs and lyrics!”

Marber leads an outstanding creative team, which includes choreographer Lorin Latarro (famed for Broadway’s Waitress and Mrs. Doubtfire), set designer Scott Pask, costume designer Paul Farnsworth, lighting designer Tim Lutkin, and sound designer Paul Groothius. Musical supervision and dance arrangements will be handled by Gareth Valentine, with musical direction by Matthew Samer.

Reprising their roles from the original Menier run are the highly acclaimed leads: Andy Nyman, Marc Antolin, Trevor Ashley, Raj Ghatak, Harry Morrison, and Joanna Woodward. The full cast will be announced soon.

Producer Nica Burns expresses her excitement, stating, “It’s an absolute pleasure to bring Patrick Marber’s brilliantly funny production to the Garrick Theatre. Patrick has brought together a top-tier cast and creative team that captures every laugh and comedic moment in Mel Brooks’ beloved musical. Prepare for a fantastically entertaining evening—this is one show you won’t want to miss.”

Based on Brooks’ classic cult film, The Producers follows the misadventures of down-on-his-luck Broadway producer Max Bialystock and his meek accountant Leo Bloom, as they plot to produce the biggest flop in theatre history—only for their plan to hilariously backfire. The original Broadway production of this tale garnered a record twelve Tony Awards, and this new London revival is set to deliver all of Mel Brooks’ signature humor along with its “equal opportunity offender” charm.

Tickets for The Producers at the Garrick Theatre start at £25. For further details and to book, visit www.theproducersmusical.com and follow @theproducerslondon.
