Housed in a former postal sorting office along London’s historic Essex Road, Osh Gallery currently pulsates with an atmosphere where engine oil meets craftsmanship, and graphic design converges with street and garage culture. Opening as part of London Design Festival 2026 and running through 29 October 2026, Pentagram x Deus Ex Machina invites visitors into the beating heart of a making culture that breathes life into objects.
Anchoring the center of the gallery stands an iconic centerpiece—one whose tactile presence demands to be experienced in person: an original 1965 Mini Cooper S race car, revitalized through custom graphic work by Pentagram partner Matt Willey. Blending the nostalgic aura of the racetrack with the understated vocabulary of graphic design, this object gleams with sculptural poise in the middle of the hall. Crucially, this rare confluence of design and motorsport history is available for direct purchase by collectors.
Elevating the ongoing collaboration between these two creative powerhouses to a new register, the exhibition extends far beyond a single automobile. A new product collection featuring work by Matt Willey, Angus Hyland, Piotr Woronkowicz, and the Deus Ex Machina team probes the intersections of craft, design, and utility. One-off garments reworked by Deus Ex Machina specifically for this showcase, limited-edition T-shirts, and a custom newspaper publication designed by Willey collectively transform the space into a living design workshop.
Serving as a compelling reminder that design objects are meant not merely for display but to be used and lived with, this encounter weaves graphic aesthetics and maker culture into a captivating harmony. Exuding passion and grace down to its finest details, this is a thoroughly engaging exhibition that warrants a dedicated stop on any itinerary in London.
