Elizabeth Xi Bauer is presenting the new works the artist produced during his 2025 studio residency to art lovers until February 15, 2026. The moment you step through the gallery door, you realize this is not a classic “look and pass” exhibition. For over twenty years, Maciá has been speaking in his unique language, which he calls “Olfactory Acoustic Composition.”

The artist expands sculpture beyond visual boundaries to explore the invisible systems that sustain life. The “migration” in the exhibition is not only the movement of people or animals; it is the motion of sounds, pollens, scents, and the interdependence in nature.
Maciá’s vast “scent library,” built over years in collaboration with scientists and perfumers, combines with field recordings from rainforests, deserts, and polar regions. The result is a multisensory celebration where frescos, drawings, sound, and scent intertwine, allowing you to feel the invisible rhythm of nature.
In these early months of the year, if you want to escape the crowds of Exmouth Market, open your perceptions, and hear and smell the world’s breathing, this exhibition is just for you.
