Seth Armstrong “Subrosa” Exhibition

We had the chance to visit Seth Armstrong’s latest solo exhibition, Subrosa, at Unit. The title, Latin for “under the rose,” symbolizes secrecy. In this new collection of works, Armstrong explores the hidden truths of Los Angeles. The city feels caught between myth and reality. Suburban homes emerge and conceal themselves beneath the lush greenery of LA’s hills.

The artist invites us to peer beneath this foliage and uncover the human stories Armstrong documents, hidden under the leaves. The artworks beautifully reveal the complex and mysterious facets of Los Angeles.
