Taylor Swift’s ‘The Life of a Showgirl’ Sets Record with Over Five Million Pre-saves on Spotify

September 30, 20251 min read

The pop icon is set to unveil her 12th studio album this Friday (October 3), following last year’s ‘The Tortured Poets Department’.

As reported by Rolling Stone, her upcoming project has already achieved over five million pre-saves on Spotify, breaking her own previous record set with her 2024 album. This makes it the first album in Spotify history to reach this milestone.

On Monday, September 29, Spotify launched a new feature that displays pre-save counts for albums on their Countdown Pages. Every Wednesday, Spotify will update the ranking of the Countdown chart to keep fans informed.

Spotify executive Madeleine Bennett commented, “The Upcoming Releases hub is designed to celebrate what’s on the horizon in music, and Countdown Charts provide an exciting new way for fans to see which releases are generating the most buzz.”

“By showcasing the top pre-saved albums globally, we’re giving artists an effective tool to build anticipation and engage with their dedicated fans leading up to release day.”

Artists with a minimum of 5,000 active listeners in the past month can create Countdown Pages for their upcoming albums and EPs.
