September 24, 20251 min read

As part of the centennial celebrations of Robert Rauschenberg, one of the most iconic figures in the art world, the Guggenheim Museum hosts a special exhibition titled Collection in Focus | Robert Rauschenberg: Life Can’t Be Stopped from October 10, 2025, to April 5, 2026. This exhibition brings together over a dozen significant works from the Guggenheim’s collection and key loans from the Robert Rauschenberg Foundation, highlighting the artist’s radical use of materials and media.

At the heart of this exhibition, which joins a global tribute to Rauschenberg’s boundary-pushing creativity, experimental spirit, and enduring impact on contemporary art, is Barge (1962–63). This monumental, 9.7-meter-long silkscreen painting, the largest of the 79 works in the artist’s 1962–64 series and created primarily within a 24-hour period, returns to New York for the first time in nearly 25 years.

Curated by Joan Young, Senior Director of Curatorial Affairs, the exhibition offers a comprehensive look at Rauschenberg’s artistic legacy, showcasing how he redefined the concept of art and opened new paths for future generations of artists. A must-see experience for anyone eager to explore Rauschenberg’s bold innovations and the limitless potential of art!
