Paramount+ has released the trailer for the highly anticipated documentary focusing on the legendary Black Sabbath icon, Ozzy Osbourne. Titled Ozzy: No Escape From Now, the film will debut on October 7th in the United States. Directed by Tania Alexander, this documentary was crafted in collaboration with the Osbourne family.

The emotional trailer features Sharon Osbourne sharing Ozzy’s profound regret about never having said a proper goodbye to his fans. It also includes insights from their children—Jack, Aimee, and Kelly—as they discuss their father’s health struggles following a serious neck injury, with Jack poignantly remarking, “After the surgery, he’s far worse.”

Additionally, the film explores how Ozzy managed to record his final studio album, Patient Number Nine, in 2021, despite facing mobility challenges that prevented him from touring. Chad Smith of the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who contributed to the album, reflects in the trailer, “Kelly was very emotional, ‘That was my dad again. Oh my god, he’s having a great time.’ Of course, he’s making music. He’s doing what he loves.”

Ozzy: No Escape From Now chronicles the lead-up to Ozzy’s farewell concert in Birmingham at Villa Park, which occurred just weeks before his passing on July 22nd. The documentary features appearances from notable figures such as Tony Iommi, Billy Corgan, Chad Smith, Zakk Wylde, James Hetfield, Robert Trujillo, Billy Idol, Tom Morello, and Duff McKagan.

In a poignant moment towards the end of the trailer, Ozzy reflects, “If my life is coming to an end, I can’t complain. I’ve had a great life.”

Meanwhile, the BBC’s documentary focusing on Ozzy’s last three years, initially scheduled for August 18th, has been rebranded as Sharon and Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home and is set to release on October 2nd. The BBC expressed their condolences to the Osbourne family at this challenging time, respecting their request to delay the airing of this special film.
