Watford Palace Theatre is gearing up to reopen its doors this September, unveiling a brand new creative space and an exciting autumn lineup. This season is filled with an energetic variety of theatre, comedy, music, and dance, catering to audiences of all ages.
The festivities begin on September 4th with a performance by The Illegal Eagles, followed by two fantastic comedy festivals. The South Asian Comedy Festival takes place from September 12-14, showcasing talents such as Sindu Vee and Paul Sinha. Shortly after, the Women in Comedy Festival runs from October 15-18, featuring renowned comedians Ania Magliano, Sophie Duker, and Chloe Petts.
For families, the autumn schedule is packed with engaging and interactive performances. WiFi Wars returns on September 7th for its 10th-anniversary tour, while the delightful family musical, The Dinosaur that Pooped, based on the beloved book series, will be unmissable on October 28th. The season wraps up with the festive panto, Jack and the Beanstalk, running from November 29th to January 4th, featuring voice work by Stephen Fry as the Giant.
Music and cabaret enthusiasts can also look forward to an array of events, including Dragged to the Musicals on October 9th, hosted by Divina De Campo, and Northern Live: Do I Love You on November 1st. Additionally, audiences can enjoy Yeh Dosti: Celebrating 50 Years of Sholay on September 27th and a special tribute concert to Coldplay on November 14th.
Completing the season are several special events, including intimate evenings with celebrities like Katy Price and Kerry Katona on September 19th, and Annabel Croft on November 12th. The esteemed physicist Professor Brian Cox will also make a special appearance for a “Work in Progress” show in December.
