Over 800 buildings, more than 700 events, across 33 boroughs: The most exciting week of the year for architecture and exploration enthusiasts is approaching.
The first details of the Open House Festival 2025, which annually brings together thousands of architecture lovers, urban enthusiasts, and history buffs, have been announced. Taking place from September 13–21, the festival will once again unveil London’s hidden gems.
What’s New?
This year’s initial lineup of buildings includes some standout highlights:
- Studio AVC offices, located in a 1929 former Liberty print workshop, directly connected to William Morris’ Arts & Crafts legacy.
- The King’s Foundation Hackney, housed in a restored factory building.
- London Film School, set in a building once used as a banana warehouse, welcoming curious visitors.
Additionally, the program includes structures at Olympic Park, architecture studios, the east end of Westminster Abbey, and cultural spaces like the Museum of
Homelessness and Museum of Transology.
Newly added residential properties include:
- RIBA House of the Year 2024: Six Columns
- Station Lodge, striking with its steel and timber details
- Hebron House, a Victorian structure updated with sustainable transformations
- Pioneer Centre, a representative of modernist heritage
- Pine Heath, a 1960s gem in Hampstead
- New Fauconberg Cottage, captivating with its intriguing architecture
Returning Classics
As always, the festival’s staples remain a highlight. Iconic buildings like Senate House, Guildhall, Temple Bar, Royal Courts of Justice, Reform Club (pre-booking required), societies at Burlington House, City churches, and livery halls will once again welcome visitors.
Pre-Booking and Ticketed Entries
Some buildings and tours require advance reservations. Information about the festival’s “balloted entry” buildings, selected by lottery, will be announced on August 20. As in previous years, hard-to-access locations like the St Pancras clock tower and the rooftop of 55 Broadway are expected to be revealed.
