The complete cast for Little Dancer – A New Musical In Concert has been unveiled ahead of its eagerly awaited UK premiere at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane on Sunday, July 27, 2025, for one night only. This new musical boasts the talented Olivier and Tony Award-winning duo of Lynn Ahrens (book and lyrics) and Stephen Flaherty (music), with direction and choreography by the acclaimed Susan Stroman, a two-time Olivier and five-time Tony Award winner.
Tiler Peck, the Principal Dancer with New York City Ballet, will perform as Young Marie van Goethem. She is joined by an impressive cast, including Julian Ovenden (Downton Abbey, Bridgerton) as Edgar Degas and Laura Pitt-Pulford (Standing at the Sky’s Edge) as Adult Marie.
The newly announced cast includes David Albury (Get Up Stand Up The Musical) as Christian, Imogen Amos, who will make her West End debut as Charlotte, and Imogen Bailey (Shrek The Musical) as Antoinette. Veteran performers Josefina Gabrielle (42nd Street) as Martine, Debbie Kurup (The Devil Wears Prada) as Mary Cassatt, and Rohan Tickell (Les Misérables) as Corbeil round out the principal cast. A talented ensemble of sixteen performers will also bring the enchanting world of the Paris Opera Ballet to life.
Inspired by the true story behind Edgar Degas’ renowned sculpture, Little Dancer explores the life of Marie van Goethem, the young ballerina who became the muse for one of the world’s most celebrated artworks. The musical chronicles Marie’s journey through poverty, ambition, and the challenges facing a young woman in 19th-century Paris.
“I find Little Dancer to be a life-affirming piece of theater,” says director Susan Stroman. “Marie wanted to be a great dancer and, through art, inadvertently became the most famous dancer in the world.” Lynn Ahrens also expressed her enthusiasm for bringing this “rare story” to the London stage.
