The collaboration between silent green and the Miller-Zillmer Foundation promises an enchanting evening at the intersection of art, music, and searches for geographical identity. Artist and researcher Niccolò Masini’s interdisciplinary exhibition titled “Islands of Time” opens its doors on Thursday, August 6, 2026.
On opening night, alongside the free exhibition visit, it transforms into an unforgettable cultural experience with live performances bringing together master names of electronic music and contemporary dance in the Kuppelhalle hall.
Geographical Identities and the Elasticity of Time: “Islands of Time”
Developed within the framework of the Miller-Zillmer Foundation’s Vision into the Future (2019–2022) program, “Islands of Time” examines the relationship between the sense of spatial belonging and the construction of geographical identity. Aiming to move beyond the linear flow of time, the exhibition shuttles between Western Sahara, the Italian-French border (Ventimiglia/Menton), Argentina, and the Aeolian Archipelago.
Italian artist and academic Niccolò Masini addresses concepts of memory and movement in a global geopolitical context. Questioning state borders and “imaginary” states of deterritorialization through written and oral narratives, Masini invites the audience into the depths of collective memory. Following the opening, the exhibition can be visited until August 16, 2026.
Enchanting Opening Program: Live Sets and Performances
Following the opening at 18:00 on the evening of August 6 in the Ateliers 2+3 area, starting at 19:15, the following names from the world of music and performance will take the stage at Kuppelhalle:

Pole (Stefan Betke): Legendary producer of minimal techno, ambient, and dub since the ’90s. Using echo sounds as memory and space as an instrument, Pole brings deep bass tones together with lightness through remix works of his latest album Tempus.

JakoJako & Rubén Nsue: Modular synthesizer expert and producer Sibel Koçer (JakoJako) combines her music, blending emotional and technical electronics, with the bodily expression of Madrid-born contemporary dancer Rubén Nsue.

Sunroof: A project born out of a shared passion for modular synthesizers by Mute Records founder Daniel Miller and producer Gareth Jones. Formed entirely through live improvisation without any rehearsal, their sets offer an opportunity to witness a pure moment of electronic music.

Nicolas Bougaïeff: Nicknamed “Dr. Techno”, the French-Canadian producer brings the night to a close with his mesmerizing rhythms where he treats club culture as a thought chamber and sonic architecture.
