Two giants of the indie rock world—former Band of Horses guitarist Tyler Ramsey and My Morning Jacket mastermind Carl Broemel—join forces to take us into the calm yet technically mesmerizing depths of Nashville. “Celestun” (Duo Quest Records) is the fruit of more than a decade of waiting friendship and mutual musical admiration between these two guitar craftsmen.

💫  A Story of Ten Years of Patience: The paths of the duo first crossed on tour in 2012. Impressed by each other’s playing styles, Ramsey and Broemel had dreamed of working together ever since, but their busy schedules never allowed it. The pandemic period gave these two gifted musicians the opportunity to meet in Nashville, in Broemel’s home studio, and finally record this dream project.

🎛️  The Elegant Dance of Guitars: The album carries the spirit of “American Primitive” reminiscent of legends like John Fahey and Bert Jansch, yet it evolves into something entirely unique thanks to its modernity and the flawless interplay between the two guitars. Ramsey and Broemel, while deeply respecting each other’s space, manage to sound like “a single body” while still letting the listener feel each of their distinctive touches. One of the most surprising aspects of the album is the exceptionally high-level vocals—rarely heard, yet instantly captivating once they appear.

⚡  Friendship and Discipline: Celestun is not just an instrumental guitar album; it is a document of the time two friends spent in the studio, their mutual respect, and their pure love of music. Offering both technical mastery and profound tranquility, this work arrives like medicine for the ears in today’s noisy world.

🔗 Apartment No:26 Note:

My Morning Jacket’s psychedelic expansiveness and Band of Horses’ folk sensitivity are distilled here into a “micro” level—far more intimate and warm.

The way the guitars intertwine on the album recalls those deep, fireside conversations on a winter evening.

If you love the calm of Iron & Wine or the harmonic textures of Fleet Foxes, this album will become a true sanctuary for you.
