Crunchyroll Anime Awards 2026: 10th Anniversary Celebration Begins in Tokyo on May 23!
One of the most prestigious nights in the anime world, the Crunchyroll Anime Awards, is gearing up to celebrate its 10th anniversary in 2026! With the official announcement made on January 28, the details of this massive event and what awaits us have started to become clear.

The Big Night: May 23, 2026
The heart of the anime world will beat once again in Japan’s capital, Tokyo, on May 23, 2026. This grand event, specially organized for the 10th anniversary, will lock anime fans in front of their screens with a global pre-show, a star-studded orange carpet, and unforgettable stage performances.
One of the biggest surprises of this year’s ceremony comes from the music side. As a tribute to the 30th anniversary of the legendary Neon Genesis Evangelion, iconic singer Yoko Takahashi will take the stage to perform the cult classic “A Cruel Angel’s Thesis.” The night will also feature classical music influences. The Tokyo Philharmonic Orchestra, under the direction of conductor Hirofumi Kurita, will perform symphonic suites with arrangements signed by composer Kazunori Miyake.
The ceremony will be hosted by two fan-favorite personalities: voice actress Sally Amaki and renowned showman Jon Kabira. For the global pre-show, Crunchyroll’s Lauren Moore and Tim Lyu will be with us.
