John Power, frontman of Cast, who is currently supporting Oasis, has shared his impression of Liam and Noel Gallagher. He remarked that they “seem to be in an absolutely wonderful place.”
In a recent interview with Vulture, Power discussed the positive atmosphere while working alongside the iconic brothers during the UK and Ireland leg of the ‘Oasis Live ‘25’ tour, where Cast is opening for them at all 19 shows. He noted, “They both genuinely want to be there, and you can feel the positive energy. Everything is going really well.”
Power observed that Liam Gallagher appears to be very focused on the performances, which explains his reduced social media activity. “He’s extremely concentrated right now,” Power said, adding, “This tour means a lot to him. He’s doing everything he can to stay in top shape because fatigue can be tough on the voice. Right now, he sounds absolutely wonderful.”
During the first show in Cardiff, Power dedicated the song “Walkaway” to the late Liverpool star Diogo Jota and included other notable hits like “Guiding Star” and “Alright.” For a recap of the Cardiff gig, you can check it out here.
Backstage, Power also shared a video of himself performing a lighthearted song dedicated to Oasis guitarist Paul “Bonehead” Arthurs.
Previously, Cast announced their new album ‘Yeah Yeah Yeah,’ featuring the lead single “Poison Vine,” which showcases their signature guitar sound along with guest vocals from veteran soul singer P.P. Arnold. Power expressed enthusiasm about joining Oasis, stating, “It’s a stamp of approval from our peers, and I appreciate that immensely.”
Reflecting on his earlier encounters with the Gallaghers, Power recalled meeting Liam as a teenager and their initial interactions leading to important opportunities for his band. This journey has been significant for Cast as they continue to carve out their place in music history alongside legends like Oasis.
