HBO has officially announced that renowned composer Hans Zimmer will collaborate with Labrinth to co-write the score for the upcoming third season of Euphoria.
On July 23, HBO revealed the news via the official Euphoria Twitter account, confirming that Zimmer will join longtime collaborator Labrinth, who has been instrumental in crafting the show’s signature sound in its first two seasons.
In a statement, Zimmer expressed his excitement about joining the team, saying, “It’s an honor to be part of this incredible group of storytellers under the brilliant direction of Sam Levinson. Together, they have created a powerful and poignant series that resonates deeply with audiences. Labrinth’s music has significantly shaped the show’s identity, and I can’t wait to contribute to the narrative and help mold this new season through music.”
Labrinth also shared his enthusiasm, saying, “It’s another chapter in the Euphoria universe! I’m thrilled to work alongside Hans, one of my film scoring heroes, to bring new magic to this season. Much love!”
Zimmer is celebrated worldwide for his compositions in films like Interstellar, Christopher Nolan’s Dark Knight trilogy, Gladiator, The Da Vinci Code, Dune, and No Time To Die.
Additionally, HBO’s Executive Vice President and Head of Drama, Francesca Orsi, hinted that this season may be the last for the beloved series. While there’s a possibility of continuing the story in some form, Orsi remarked, “We’ve talked about it; I don’t think anything is over until it’s over, but discussions have pointed to this being the end.”
