Suki Waterhouse recently opened up about her hospital stay due to a hernia that she attributed to wearing “tight” pants.
The singer, songwriter, and actor shared this surprising news in a post on X on Monday, July 14, responding to fans who had noticed her decreased activity on social media lately.
In her post, she humorously addressed the inquiries, writing, “‘Suki, you never tweet anymore. Have you ever considered that I wore pants so tight six months ago it caused a hernia, and I’ve been too scared to tell you?” She included a photo of herself in a hospital bed along with a shot from a performance where she wore the now-infamous black leather trousers.
Waterhouse is gearing up for a series of festival performances, starting with the Frequency Festival in Austria on August 13, followed by appearances at Reading & Leeds festivals. Last year, she released her second album, Memoir of a Sparklemuffin. In a conversation with NME, she described how writing the album during her pregnancy influenced its creation: “The beautiful thing about making this record was having a very physical deadline. Not just one where you think, ‘You should turn it in then,’ but a very physical one.”
In summer 2022, she supported Taylor Swift during the ‘Eras Tour’ at Wembley Stadium, where she joked that her “nervous system will never be the same,” reflecting on the surreal experience of performing for her favorite artist with friends and family in attendance.
