Choreographer and director Eleanor Wilson is set to unveil an electrifying dance production this summer at the Camden Fringe, telling the fascinating story of The Forty Elephants. Featuring a dynamic blend of contemporary and jazz dance styles, this engaging performance will take place at Theatro Technis on August 4th and 5th.
With an original score by Jack Blakey and striking lighting design by Daniel Taylor, The Forty Elephants brings to life the tale of the notorious all-female crime syndicate that ran rampant in 20th-century London. The production delves into themes of sisterhood, rebellion, violence, and forbidden love, promising an impactful and unforgettable experience.
“They weren’t just common criminals; they were clever, resourceful women who devised intricate methods of deception,” shares Wilson. “This piece challenges the dancers with its demanding choreography, showcasing the stealth, strength, and determination of these remarkable women.”
