A short life of 35 years that changed the history of classical music, 626 immortal works, and a genius returning to the stage as if physically present for the first time in centuries… As the NO-26 team, we are setting our radar towards Beyoğlu on the evening of August 30 this time. Bringing together “ghost scrim” hologram technology and Mixed Reality disciplines on the same stage for the very first time in the world, this special production brings Mozart’s inner world and music right to our feet alongside a live performance.
With its century-old stone walls dating back to the 19th century and its enchanting acoustics, Beyoğlu Sahne offers a venue filled with character for this performance. The piano quartet performing live on stage will be accompanied by a hologram of Mozart projected through specialized projection systems. Without turning it into a mere technology show, the performance combines the composer’s life story—stretching from his childhood years to his passionate loves, and from his artistic turmoil to his mysterious death—with the spirit of that era.
Meeting the audience after a meticulous preparation process of about a year, the goal of the project is not merely to show a digital effect, but to drop the audience right in the middle of that intense 18th-century musical atmosphere. As the sound of instruments played live in the flesh intertwines with digital imagery, you embark on a multi-dimensional journey through the genius composer’s turbulent mind.
If you’re looking for a unique, innovative, and first-of-its-kind stage experience in Istanbul as we wrap up August, be sure to note down this special gathering in your calendar.
