Dua Lipa and Her Agency Address Agent’s Dismissal Over Glastonbury Controversy

September 28, 20253 min read

Dua Lipa and her talent agency have responded to claims that she terminated her agent after he allegedly signed a letter requesting that Kneecap be removed from the Glastonbury line-up.

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Lipa, who is currently on the North American leg of her ‘Radical Optimism’ world tour, has severed ties with her agent at William Morris Endeavour (WME), David Levy. Sources suggest that she took decisive steps to ensure Levy was no longer associated with her music due to his perceived support for Israel’s actions in Gaza, as indicated by the letter he signed addressed to Glastonbury’s co-founder, Michael Eavis.

In response to the unfolding situation, Dua Lipa took to Instagram to clarify her stance. “I do not support David Levy’s actions or those of any industry executive regarding an artist expressing their truth,” she stated. “The claims reported were completely false, and the inflammatory language used by the Daily Mail was clearly designed to generate clicks and fuel online division. Exploiting a global tragedy for media gain is deeply troubling.”

A spokesperson for WME also rejected the tabloid’s narrative, asserting, “Claims that Dua Lipa or her management dismissed one of our agents due to his political opinions are categorically untrue.” They noted that Levy, who helped shape Lipa’s early career, transitioned into an advisory role in 2019 and has not been involved in her daily business for some time.

The letter in question, which aimed to have Kneecap—a group known for their pro-Palestine activism—removed from the festival’s line-up, was leaked by a Glastonbury employee. Despite the campaign, Kneecap remained part of the festival, and DJ Toddla T criticized the letter’s authorship, highlighting the influence of a prominent music agent.

Dua Lipa has long been an advocate for Palestinian rights. In 2021, she publicly opposed an advertisement in the New York Times that labeled her and other forms of advocacy as anti-Semitic. More recently, she was vocal in supporting a ceasefire in Gaza, demonstrating her commitment to the cause on various platforms.

As the situation develops, Lipa remains a significant figure advocating for justice in Palestine, using her influence to raise awareness on critical issues.
