Berlin’s Bode Gallery opens its doors with Still Moving, a group exhibition curated by interdisciplinary art director and curator Jessica Nupen. Running from September 5 to October 19, 2025, the exhibition offers a bold intellectual journey exploring the politics and poetry of movement within the South African context.
The exhibition brings together a remarkable selection of artists, including renowned figures like William Kentridge, Sam Nhlengethwa, Lady Skollie, Misheck Masamvu, and Frances Goodman, alongside promising talents such as Boemo Diale and Nthabiseng Kekana.
Through each artist’s unique language, the works interrogate the symbolic meanings of movement and its social and historical contexts. Still Moving harnesses the tension between stillness and dynamism to demonstrate how art reflects societal changes and serves as a tool for resistance. The exhibition is expected to offer audiences a profound insight into South Africa’s complex cultural and political landscape.
