New Diorama Theatre Announces Exciting Autumn 2025 Lineup – Theatre News

July 21, 20252 min read

The New Diorama Theatre is thrilled to unveil its much-anticipated Autumn 2025 season, running from September 23 to December 13. This season features two groundbreaking productions from pioneering theatre companies, promising an engaging and varied theatrical experience.

Ecofeminist Rallying Cry and Electro-Folk Musical

Kicking off the season from September 23 to October 25 is Uprooted by the acclaimed Ephemeral Ensemble. Following the success of their previous production, REWIND, Uprooted is characterized as a tropical-punk ecofeminist rallying cry. Drawing inspiration from the voices of displaced communities and environmental activists in Latin America, this vibrant production utilizes dynamic physicality, striking visuals, and “bone-stirring music” to delve into themes of oppression and resistance, planting the seeds for a more interconnected future.

Following that, from November 11 to December 13, the New Diorama continues its tradition of fostering new musicals with Precipice by Timelapse. This innovative electro-folk musical explores the 400-year aftermath of a biomedical disaster. Crafted collaboratively by six creators, including Olivier Award-winner Darren Clark, Precipice weaves together intersecting timelines where past errors lead to future reckoning, all underscored by a “thrilling electro-folk score.” It presents a darkly comedic narrative of crisis, humanity, and hope amidst disaster.

A Vision for the Future

Emma Clark, Head of Programme at New Diorama Theatre, highlighted the significance of showcasing these companies: “At a particularly challenging time for independent ensembles, we are proud to present the work of Ephemeral Ensemble and Timelapse—two bold and distinctive groups with passionate visions for the future of theatre and beyond.” She remarked that these “poetic, humane, and wildly theatrical new shows” thoughtfully examine societal systems while striving for “hopeful, rewilded futures.”

Tickets for both productions are available now, with more details found at newdiorama.com.
