DC Studios has finally cast the lead role for one of the cinematic universe’s most iconic villains, Clayface. After an extensive casting process, the producers announced that British actor Tom Rhys Harries will take on the role of Clayface in the DCU.
With a budget of approximately $40 million, the film will be directed by James Watkins. The screenplay was originally written by horror maestro Mike Flanagan and later revised by Hossein Amini. The story follows an actor who, terrified of losing his fame, injects himself with an experimental substance that transforms him into Clayface — a being of malleable clay form.
Harries was selected for the role after his performance impressed both James Gunn and Matt Reeves. Filming is set to begin in October 2025, with a theatrical release scheduled for September 11, 2026.
