Can an architectural space have its own sound, its own story? Berlin’s iconic Mies van der Rohe Haus answers this question through art. Reopening its doors to celebrate architectural genius, the venue invites us into a unique dialogue with Sergei Sviatchenko’s collages and Konstantin Schimanowski’s sound installation.
The exhibition, LISTENING TO THE SOUND OF THE HOUSE, runs from September 28 to October 13, 2025, offering a fresh perspective on the spirit of the space. Sergei Sviatchenko’s striking photo-collages intertwine with the venue’s minimalist aesthetic, while Konstantin Schimanowski’s custom sound installation serves as the auditory complement to this visual feast.
The opening festival promises far more than a typical exhibition launch. Konstantin Schimanowski will present new acoustic worlds inspired by the Mies van der Rohe Haus in a two-part live performance. Additionally, the creative workshop THE SCHOOL OF LESS, led by Sergei Sviatchenko, offers participants the chance to create their own collage art. Note that spots are limited, so reserve your place promptly.
This event is a manifesto showcasing how an architectural masterpiece can be reimagined through modern art. Be there to witness this artistic dialogue where architecture, photography, and sound converge.
