Yungblud has stepped in to replace Sam Fender as the headliner for Rock Werchter, and he’s dropped hints about making a special guest appearance at Black Sabbath’s final concert.
On July 4, Fender announced that he would be withdrawing from several European festivals, including his headline slot at Rock Werchter, due to a vocal hemorrhage. Consequently, Yungblud is set to perform at the Belgian festival tonight, with his set starting at 11:30 PM.
In an Instagram post, he hinted that he might make it to Black Sabbath’s last-ever show, aptly titled ‘Back To The Beginning.’ This monumental event will take place at Villa Park in Aston, featuring frontman Ozzy Osbourne, guitarist Tony Iommi, bassist Geezer Butler, and drummer Bill Ward, who will reunite on stage for the first time in twenty years.
Sharing his excitement on Instagram, Yungblud said, “I have to make a quick stop in Birmingham first,” along with a photo of himself next to a mural of Osbourne, captioned with #backtothebeginning.
The legendary gig is expected to include performances by other iconic artists such as Metallica, Slayer, Pantera, Alice In Chains, Gojira, Anthrax, Smashing Pumpkins’ Billy Corgan, Guns N’ Roses, KoRn, and Tool, with Tom Morello serving as the musical director for the event. The concert will be live-streamed globally, with actor Jason Momoa hosting the festivities.
Ozzy Osbourne hasn’t performed a full concert since 2018 and has faced multiple health challenges, including surgeries and Parkinson’s disease. However, in a recent interview with The Guardian, he expressed optimism about the show, stating, “I’ll be there, and I’ll do the best I can. All I can do is show up.” There’s even speculation about whether he might perform from a flying throne.
As the event approaches, Osbourne has indicated that he is in rigorous training, eager to connect with fans for what may be his final performance. His wife and manager, Sharon, reassured fans that while Osbourne’s mobility is affected, his voice remains strong.
In related news, Yungblud is gearing up for a major arena tour across the UK and Ireland in 2026 and will kick off with a series of intimate “Up Close And Personal” shows next month, followed by headline tours in North America and Europe later this year.
