Apple TV+ has announced the renewal of the Spanish crime drama Women in Blue (Las Azules) for a second season. The series, featuring an all-Latin American cast, will return with an eight-episode season. Starring Bárbara Mori (Ruby) in the lead role, the show will also see the return of Ximena Sariñana (Amar te duele), Natalia Téllez (Después de ti), and Amorita Rasgado (Nómadas).
Inspired by real events, Women in Blue is set in 1971 Mexico and continues to follow the story of four women who formed the country’s first female police force. In the new season, Lieutenant María finds herself unraveling a complex series of murders that begins with the killing of a university student. Alongside Ángeles, Gabina, and Valentina, the women are drawn into a conspiracy filled with suppressed secrets and profound confrontations, all while challenging the deeply conservative societal structure. Created by Fernando Rovzar and Pablo Aramendi, the series is produced by Lemon Studios.
