Fans eager to see Zach Bryan perform in Kansas City might be disappointed, as the artist has made a bold statement about his future visits.
Over the weekend, the country singer found himself in a heated exchange online with supporters of the Kansas City Chiefs, the local football team. Known for his loyalty to the Philadelphia Eagles, Bryan sparked a social media tussle on August 9 when he playfully targeted Chiefs fans.
“Where are all the three-peat people from last year?” he posted on X (formerly Twitter), referring to the Chiefs’ unsuccessful bid for three consecutive Super Bowl titles after their loss to the Eagles earlier this year.
Fans from Chiefs Nation quickly retaliated. One posted, “3 Super Bowl wins in 5 seasons. The Eagles have only won 2 in their 70-year history. Sit down, Eagles fan from Oklahoma.” Another added, “The Chiefs won more Super Bowls in a 5-year span than the Eagles have in their entire history.”
One particularly vocal fan told Bryan, “Go f*** yourself. You keep talking smack but still take these people’s hard-earned money.” He later elaborated, expressing frustration over Bryan’s comments while still benefiting from the local fanbase that sells out his shows.
In response, Bryan stated, “Please understand I will never play in Kansas City.”
He further joked, “If I play at that stadium again, I’ll be about to finish my show and then get a taunting call.”
While it’s unclear if Bryan is genuinely serious about never returning, he did imply that the tweets were made in jest, noting, “I missed it here, guys, let’s piss some people off,” and “Guys, it’s okay to talk trash about football. Y’all are weird as hell.”
In more positive news regarding Zach Bryan, he recently took the stage at MetLife Stadium in New Jersey, where he surprised fans by inviting special guests Bruce Springsteen and Caleb Followill of Kings Of Leon to perform together, including Springsteen’s classic ‘Atlantic City’ and Bryan’s own ‘Revival’.
Last year, he was recognized as one of the top ten highest-grossing music tours in 2024, with his ‘Quittin’ Time Tour’ earning around $199.1 million (£156.9 million). Other notable names on the list included P!NK, Coldplay, and The Rolling Stones.
Additionally, Bryan teased an upcoming film project titled Motorbreath, which he’s developing in collaboration with Matthew McConaughey, aiming to celebrate his latest “major label album.”
