Women’s Labor in Cinema: “Where on the Line?” Builds Spaces for Transformation

November 4, 20251 min read

In the rigid hierarchies of the film industry, women’s labor too often vanishes—whether “below the line” or “above the line.” The talk-and-workshop series “Where on the Line?” challenges those borders and invites everyone to co-create a louder, fairer future. At its heart: real stories from women who light, cut, record, produce, and direct.

Running every weekend from November to December 2025 at Kadir Has University, the program mixes panel talks, hands-on workshops, and round-table brainstorms. The goal? Turn structural inequality into shared blueprints: mentorship networks, solidarity circles, and bold policy fixes we build together.
