National Theatre at Home, the innovative streaming platform from the National Theatre, is set to premiere The Wind in the Willows: The New Musical on May 8, 2025, offering a delightful experience for the entire family.
Join Ratty, Badger, Mole, and the adventurous Toad as they dive into a whirlwind of escapades, driven by Toad’s unquenchable thirst for speed! This production showcases stunning visuals, vibrant choreography, and a truly British score, packed with humor, heart, and excitement that promises to enchant families nationwide.
Recorded live at the London Palladium in 2017, The Wind in the Willows features an impressive cast: Rufus Hound takes on the role of the extraordinary Mr. Toad, alongside Simon Lipkin as Ratty, Craig Mather as Mole, Neil McDermott as Chief Weasel, Denise Welch as Mrs. Otter, and Gary Wilmot as Badger.
Based on Kenneth Grahame’s beloved novel, this musical adaptation was produced by Jamie Hendry, with a book by Academy Award-winning screenwriter Julian Fellowes, and music by the Olivier Award-winning duo George Stiles and Anthony Drewe, directed by Rachel Kavanaugh. The live capture was directed by Tim Van Someren and produced by Jamie Hendry, Gavin Kalin, and Austin Shaw.
The Wind in the Willows joins the lineup of family-friendly titles available on National Theatre at Home, including the Olivier Award-winning Life of Pi, which is now available for streaming.
