Music can transcend thousands of kilometers, weaving together the sounds of different cultures to create a new language. Mongolian singer and composer Enji is one of the most gifted practitioners of this language. With her distinctive vocal technique and bold compositions, she blends the deep-rooted traditions of Mongolian music with the freedom of jazz and the intimate texture of folk.
In May 2025, Enji released her fourth studio album, Sonor, where she explores profound themes like identity and belonging through a metaphorical lens, balancing hope and caution. As with her earlier albums Ursgal and Ulaan, her music defies confinement to a single genre, remaining fluid and original.
As a guest of the 35th Akbank Jazz Festival, Enji will take the stage at Salon İKSV, joined by River Adomeit on bass and Paul Brändle on guitar. This trio’s performance will bring new songs to life, merging the tranquility of the Mongolian steppes with Istanbul’s vibrant energy for an unforgettable experience.
