When Musicandle Concerts set out two years ago under the vision of violist Özlem Sevil, it carried the excitement of achieving a first in Turkey. Blending the raw energy of Berlin’s underground concert halls with the elegance of London’s royal salons, this initiative has taken music out of closed boxes and placed it onto the dusty yet glorious pages of history.

Under the motto “The Light of Music, the Voice of Light,” these concerts have sold out 58 times in the past two years, proving just how hungry audiences are for this kind of intimacy. The Musicandle quartet—Ayşe Birden, Aycan Küçüközkan, Özlem Sevil, and Funda Altun—draws the listener into an almost hypnotic state by merging the power of strings with the melancholy of candlelight.

Sertaç Çevikkol (bassoon) and Altuğ Tekin (horn) add depth with their breath, while
