The Maccabees made a memorable return at their All Points East headlining show, where they invited Jamie T on stage to perform “Marks To Prove It” and his hit “Sticks ‘N’ Stones.”
After announcing their comeback in October last year, the indie band headlined at Victoria Park on August 24, marking their first gig in eight years. This show also celebrated the 10th anniversary of their final album, Marks To Prove It, released in 2015.
In a special moment, Jamie T joined them for a surprise rendition of the album’s title track, which he last performed with them at their “final” show in 2017 at Alexandra Palace. Prior to that, he had also graced their Glastonbury 2015 set.
Jamie T stayed on stage to perform his 2009 classic “Sticks ‘N’ Stones.” Notably, he had previously collaborated with The Maccabees’ guitarist, Hugo White, during his Finsbury Park show in 2023, and also at Glastonbury 2022, where White produced Jamie’s 2022 album, The Theory of Whatever.
While at Glastonbury, the band discussed the emotional experience of their first show back.
During their set, they were joined by Florence Welch, who provided guest vocals on “Love You Better” and performed “Dog Days Are Over.” NME praised their performance as “their most euphoric show to date,” awarding it a full five stars.
As of now, The Maccabees have no upcoming performances scheduled but expressed that the idea of recording new music together is definitely tempting.
