London is gearing up to revisit the enchanting realm of Narnia this summer, as the acclaimed production of The Lion, The Witch and The Wardrobe makes its return to the capital for a limited run at Sadler’s Wells. Celebrating the 75th anniversary of C.S. Lewis’s beloved novel, the show will be on stage from August 20 to September 7, 2025, with a press night scheduled for Thursday, August 31.
Fresh from a successful tour across the UK and Ireland, this remarkable adaptation is enhancing its London return by participating in The Society of London Theatre’s popular Kids Week initiative. This arrangement makes over 6,000 half-price tickets available, allowing one child aged 17 and under to attend for free with a full-paying adult, while two additional children can join for half price on select performances.
The cast is led by Katy Stephens in the dual roles of the powerful White Witch and Mrs. Macready. With extensive stage experience, including noteworthy performances at Shakespeare’s Globe and the Royal Shakespeare Company—as well as being an Associate Artist and part of the Olivier Award-winning ensemble for the RSC’s Histories Cycle—Stephens is set to captivate audiences. The iconic Pevensie siblings will be portrayed by Joanna Adaran (Susan), Jesse Dunbar (Peter), Kudzai Mangombe (Lucy), and Bunmi Osadolor (Edmund), with Stanton Wright taking on the role of Aslan.
Producer Chris Harper expressed excitement about the production, stating, “We are thrilled to invite children and adults alike on this spectacular journey through the wardrobe, and we’re proud to celebrate the 75th anniversary of C.S. Lewis’ novel with this performance.” Director Michael Fentiman added that the show “celebrates the magic of live theatre, featuring a multi-talented cast of actors, singers, musicians, dancers, and puppeteers.”
Don’t miss the chance to witness the captivating transformation of wartime Britain into a frozen, mystical land inhabited by fauns, talking beavers, and the noble Aslan. This cherished story is poised to leap from page to stage. Tickets for the Sadler’s Wells season and the ongoing tour are available now at www.lionwitchonstage.com.
