Steps Musical ‘Here & Now’ Reveals Principal Cast for UK & Ireland Tour

May 23, 20253 min read

The much-anticipated new musical “HERE & NOW,” brought to life by the iconic UK pop group Steps, has announced its principal cast for the upcoming tour across the UK and Ireland. Kicking off at the Aylesbury Waterside Theatre on August 29, 2025, the show promises to enchant audiences until May 16, 2026, when it wraps up at the Marlowe Theatre in Canterbury.

Returning from the musical’s successful inaugural run in Birmingham are some familiar faces and acclaimed performers. Rebecca Lock (ELF – The Musical, School of Rock) will reprise her role as Caz, and Finty Williams (The Baker’s Wife, The Ocean at the End of the Lane) returns as Patricia. They will be joined by Blake Patrick Anderson (Emojiland, RENT) as Robbie, River Medway (a fan favorite from RuPaul’s Drag Race UK) as Jem, Edward Baker Duly (The King and I, The Third Man) as Max, and John Stacey (Kiss Me Kate, My Fair Lady) as Lesley.

Exciting new members of the principal cast include Jacqui Dubois (Ghost The Musical UK tour) as Vel, Chris Grahamson (NOW That’s What I Call A Musical UK and Ireland tour) as Gareth, and Rosie Singha (& Juliet UK and Ireland tour) as Neeta. Additional casting announcements are expected soon.

“HERE & NOW” features an original book by Shaun Kitchener and is proudly produced by the members of Steps, alongside ROYO and Pete Waterman. The creative team includes Director Rachel Kavanaugh, with choreography by Olivier Award-winner Matt Cole, and musical supervision, orchestration, and arrangement by Matt Spencer-Smith.

Set in the bustling U.K. seaside superstore, Better Best Bargains, the story comes to life on Friday nights with lively dancing in the aisles. However, as Caz uncovers a web of deception, the promise of a summer filled with romance risks transforming into a heartbreaking tale. The musical ponders whether a happy ending is still attainable or if love has different plans in store.

With an impressive catalogue of hits, including their number one singles “Tragedy/Heartbeat” and “Stomp,” along with beloved tracks like “One For Sorrow,” “Better Best Forgotten,” “5, 6, 7, 8,” and “Last Thing On My Mind,” Steps brings a vibrant soundtrack to this new production. With over 22 million records sold, 500 million streams, and 11 sold-out national arena tours, the tour guarantees a nostalgic yet fresh theatrical experience for both Steps fans and musical theatre enthusiasts alike.
