New rehearsal photos of Nicola Roberts, best known from the BRIT Award-winning pop group Girls Aloud, have been unveiled as she gears up for her role in the West End production of *Hadestown*. Robert will portray Persephone in a limited engagement from September 16, 2025, to January 18, 2026, at London’s Lyric Theatre.
She joins a talented cast that features Desmonda Cathabel as Eurydice, Chris Jarman as Hades, and Cedric Neal as Hermes. This role marks a return to the West End for Roberts, who previously shone in the Olivier Award-winning revival of *City of Angels*.
This announcement follows a successful year for the singer, who recently reunited with Girls Aloud for a sold-out 30-date arena tour across the UK and Ireland, celebrating the group’s legacy and honoring their late bandmate, Sarah Harding, in front of over 300,000 fans.
*Hadestown* is a critically acclaimed musical featuring a book, music, and lyrics by singer-songwriter Anaïs Mitchell. The production weaves together two love stories: the journey of young dreamers Orpheus and Eurydice, and the mythic relationship between King Hades and his wife, Persephone. This touching and hopeful theatrical piece has resonated with audiences around the world.
With her remarkable and distinctive vocals, which she showcased during her winning streak on ITV’s *The Masked Singer UK*, Roberts is set to put her own spin on the character of Persephone.
