Slipknot has officially announced a grand reissue of their self-titled debut album to mark its 25th anniversary. Read on for the full scoop.
The Iowa-based metal band has unveiled details about their anniversary release, which will include an impressive collection of 40 unreleased tracks, new artwork, demo versions, live recordings, and never-before-seen images straight from the band’s archives.
This reissue will be available in both physical and digital formats starting on September 25, with several options for fans. You can pre-order your copy here.
Among the highlights is a previously unheard demo of “Prosthetics,” which showcases subtle differences in the opening percussion and features frontman Corey Taylor’s vocals delivered in a softer style, along with an extended breakdown where he adds new lines.
Check out the demo version of “Prosthetics” below.
The reissue will come in several variations: a collector’s 6LP Box Set with blood-splattered vinyl, limited to just 1,899 copies, a red and black 2LP, and a 2CD version. An exclusive orange 2LP will also be up for grabs at the Knotfest festival.
While the specifics of each reissue may vary based on the version fans choose, every format will include the original album.
The 6LP set will feature not only the original album but also Indigo Ranch mixes, demos, alternative mixes, and live recordings from the years 1999 and 2000.
Tracklist for Slipknot’s 25th Anniversary 6LP Reissue:
LP 1: ‘Slipknot’

Although the band is wrapping up the final steps to release this other project, new material is also on the horizon. Guitarist Jim Root has mentioned that he has completed several arrangements for a new album, while the band is yet to release anything since their 2022 album “The End So Far.”
