The City Councillor for Major Events in Rome has announced that “negotiations are underway” to bring the highly anticipated Oasis reunion tour to the Italian capital.
The band, featuring the iconic Gallagher brothers, has recently performed in London’s Wembley Stadium and their hometown of Manchester’s Heaton Park, kicking off their ‘Live ‘25’ tour with spectacular shows in Cardiff. Upcoming stops include Edinburgh, Dublin, as well as major cities in North America, South America, Australia, South Korea, and Japan.
Currently, the only confirmed European dates are set for the UK and Ireland. However, Councillor Alessandro Onorato is actively working to secure a date in Rome. In a recent interview with local radio station Radio Sei, Onorato expressed his desire to shift Rome’s reputation as a city that often misses out on major live music events. He stated, “These shows attract organizers from around the world, and the financial aspects are crucial. We are currently in discussions.”
This isn’t the first time Onorato has pursued hosting Oasis in Rome. Following the reunion announcement last September, he expressed interest in bringing the tour to the city.
In related news, Oasis manager Alec McKinlay recently tempered expectations regarding future tour dates, emphasizing this reunion may be the last opportunity for fans. Meanwhile, Liam Gallagher seemingly brushed off these comments, suggesting a more optimistic perspective on the band’s future.
In more exciting updates, funds raised from their Heaton Park gigs are set to support grassroots music venues in Manchester, reflecting the band’s commitment to their roots.
As anticipation builds, fans hope to see Oasis grace a Roman stage soon, enjoying what many describe as a much-needed escape through the band’s legendary music.
