Director Rian Johnson has announced the release date for Wake Up Dead Man, the next installment in the popular Knives Out series.
Initially revealed in May, the third film in this murder mystery franchise, following 2019’s Knives Out and 2022’s Glass Onion: A Knives Out Mystery, will see Daniel Craig returning as the iconic detective Benoit Blanc.
Johnson confirmed on his account on X that the film is set to hit theaters in the U.S. for Thanksgiving, which falls on November 27 this year. After its theatrical debut, it will be available for streaming on Netflix starting December 12.
He teased, “More to come very sooooooooon….” along with a new poster for the film, which you can check out here:

Joining Craig in the cast are Josh O’Connor, Glenn Close, Josh Brolin, Mila Kunis, Jeremy Renner, Kerry Washington, Andrew Scott, Cailee Spaeny, Daryl McCormack, and Thomas Haden Church.
A teaser released in May featured Benoit Blanc investigating a murder connected to Christian rituals, set against the haunting bluegrass tune ‘O Death’ by Ralph Stanley. Check it out:
In November, Craig expressed his desire for Wake Up Dead Man to have a lengthy run in theaters, stating, “You know I do,” when asked if he wished for a broader cinematic release. Unlike Glass Onion, which only had a week-long theatrical run before moving to Netflix, Craig hopes audiences can enjoy this film together in theaters.
Craig remarked, “Hopefully, Netflix will push it out some more so people can see it. The fans I speak to just want to take their families to the cinema. That’s all they want to do. I hope we can offer them that experience.”
