A lost sculpture by famed French artist Auguste Rodin has fetched an impressive €860,000 at auction in France, captivating art enthusiasts and collectors worldwide. The bronze piece, titled “L’Homme qui marche” (“The Walking Man”), had not been seen publicly for decades, making this rediscovery a notable event in the art world.
The auction took place in Paris on June 10th and drew international bidders eager to own a part of Rodin’s influential legacy. Experts verified the sculpture’s authenticity, dating it to the late 19th century—a period that marked Rodin’s rise as a pioneering modern sculptor.
